Practice of Wise Leadership
Practice of Wise Leadership (PWL) programs were co-created by Mary Connaughton and Jim Hassinger applying their combined 25 years of consulting experience and the cross cultural research of Dr. Angeles Arrien. These programs are based on universal leadership truths and provide opportunities for leaders to uniquely assess their strengths, character traits and susceptibility to patterns of negative thought or behavior. From the first time manager to the most seasoned executive, feedback consistently demonstrates that these programs make an immediate and sustainable impact. The programs are designed to facilitate learning and integration; therefore participants emerge with new or enhanced skills in diagnosing problems and communicating effectively as well as practical methods for managing underperformers and challenging personalities.
This program is right for you if:
- You have been a successful leader and are ready for advanced skills and new ideas
- You are new to your role and recognize that you do not have all the skills you need
- You have direct reports who don’t change their behavior regardless of your feedback: are they excellent clinicians but treat their colleagues with disrespect?
- You find yourself ready to throw in the towel on chronic problems
- You are not happy with your own reactions to the dysfunction in your organization
- You have run out of ideas about how to deal with your difficult boss or colleagues
- You are beyond exhaustion; you’ve lost perspective in your intense, fast-paced work environment
- You are caught up in a web of blame about who is not doing their job
